ABOUT US
Josh Newman, Founder/Co-Owner of Pro Motion Physical Therapy
With over 25 years of experience, Josh Newman is more than just a physical therapist—he’s a dedicated advocate for movement, recovery, and lifelong wellness. Josh, originally from Lexington, MA went to college at the University of New Hampshire where he was on the soccer team. He then continued on to PT school after working in special education, and found his passion. As the founder of Pro Motion PT, Josh has spent two decades providing expert onsite care at the MITRE Corporation, earning a reputation for his unwavering commitment to patient success. Now, he’s expanding that same level of excellence to the broader community with the launch of a brand-new outpatient clinic in Bedford, MA, which opened in August 2024.
For Josh, physical therapy isn’t just about treatment—it’s about empowerment. He believes in educating and inspiring his patients, helping them break through limitations and unlock their full potential. At Pro Motion PT, movement is medicine, Josh and the team focus on teaching patients how to move smarter, exercise more efficiently, and regain control of their health. A lifelong student himself, Josh continuously seeks out the latest techniques and advancements to provide the best possible care for his patients.
Beyond the clinic, sports and family have played a defining role in Josh’s life. As a former Division 1 soccer player, he understands firsthand the demands of athletic performance and injury recovery. Now, as a PT, he applies that same passion to helping athletes—and everyone else—compete at their highest level in the game of life. He fosters a supportive, family-like atmosphere where patients and team members alike feel valued, respected, and encouraged.
Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing pain, or striving for peak performance, Josh and his team are here to guide you with expert care and a deep commitment to your success—because you matter.
Josh and co-owner, Michael Silva connected over their shared passion for helping people thrive and not settling for mediocre care. Together they are building something special: a PT company that serves it's clients with heart, builds careers with purpose, and shines as a beacon of positivity in a sometimes cloudy healthcare system.
When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find Josh playing soccer, exercising, or spending time with his wife and two boys. If you’re local, chances are you’ll see this active family out and about in the Bedford community!
Mike Silva, Co-Owner of Pro Motion Physical Therapy
Michael Silva has been geeking out about sports, health, and fitness for over 25 years. With a master’s degree in Physical Therapy from UMass Lowell and a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from the University of Rhode Island, Michael dove headfirst into a career built on helping people move better, feel stronger, and thrive in health & life.
For 20 years, Michael was the president and founder of FOUNDATIONperformanceSports Medicine, a top-tier outpatient physical therapy practice with three thriving offices across two states. Under his leadership, FOUNDATIONperformance became a hub for serious runners and health conscious clients. Using innovative care, blending cutting-edge research, technology, and good old-fashioned hard work to serve their clients. Along the way, Michael learned one key truth: a thriving business starts with thriving employees.
His passion for running led him to create RUNstrong®, a comprehensive educational platform designed to help runners and coaches reach new heights. RUNstrong® gave Michael the chance to work with some of the world’s most incredible athletes, including Olympians and world record holders like Emily Sisson, Molly Huddle, Marc Carroll, and Kim Smith to name a few. From keynote speeches to hands-on clinics, Michael has traveled the country sharing his knowledge and love of helping runners.
After successfully selling FOUNDATIONperformance Michael soon after met our founder Josh Newman. They connected over a shared passion for helping people thrive—not just in sports but in life. They decided to collaborate and build something amazing: a physical therapy company that serves communities with heart, builds careers with purpose, and will shine as a beacon of positivity for the profession.
When he’s not working, Michael loves all forms of activity from hiking to paddle boarding to strength training. You can find him chasing the perfect taco or sushi roll and spending time with his family.

Phillipe Legagneur – Head Administrator & Front Desk
Phillipe Legagneur has been passionate about sports, athletics, and fitness for as long as he can remember. Alongside that passion, he has a strong interest in technology and process optimization:two strengths he brings to his role every day.
Phillipe graduated from Emerson College with a degree in Visual Media and 3D Animation, where he developed the ability to multitask, think creatively, and streamline processes with efficiency. Today, he applies that same skill set and work ethic to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience for every patient who walks through our doors.
Prior to joining Pro Motion PT, Phillipe served as an Associate Director at the YMCA, where he worked closely with individuals of all ages, from children to older adults, and from diverse backgrounds. That experience shaped his belief that administration is about far more than answering phones or checking in clients. For Phillipe, it’s about making every person feel welcomed, supported, and heard. It’s about helping create a clear, comfortable path toward recovery.
In a world full of busy schedules and competing demands, Phillipe strives to make each visit something patients can actually look forward to, starting from the first phone call to the moments they walk into the clinic.
He believes, “A doctor may perform the surgery, but it takes a team to prepare the room, support the process, and ensure everything runs smoothly.” At Pro Motion PT, that team-first mindset is at the core of everything we do.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Phillipe teaching youth sports classes, hosting board game nights, or enjoying his favorite TV shows and animations.
Phillipe, is a valued part of our team and loved by all.
